Specialty Camps
Fantasy Camp
Manitou’s Fantasy Camp is a free one-day camp experience.
Boys will have the opportunity to try summer camp activities such as baseball, basketball, football, tennis, hockey, lacrosse, riflery, archery, arts and crafts, computer animation, ropes and climbing tower, waterskiing, wake-surfing and wakeboarding – over 40 in all!
Fantasy campers get a tour of camp as well as a chance to meet some of Manitou’s current campers and staff to ask any questions they might have.
Our chef will prepare them a delicious traditional camp lunch and, if they ask nicely, an inside look at where the best chocolate chip cookies in Maine come from!
Spaces are limited and are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Winter Camp
Why should camp end in August? We can't think of a good reason either so at Manitou, it doesn't! Our one-of-a-kind winter program brings together campers, parents, and staff during the winter for ski and snowboard trips, reunions, and even trips to camp.
The 'Tou on Snow - Manitou’s annual ski trip in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine - includes a full weekend of skiing or riding, snow tubing, hearty meals, relaxing in the hot tub, and games with camp friends.
Our Walk-On-Water trip, a new Manitou tradition, brings campers and staff back to camp in the depths of winter. They set out together for Birch Island across the frozen lake, enjoy a traditional meal, build a fire, and play summertime favorites like softball, football and volleyball in the deep snow. The day ends with milk and cookies — and hot chocolate.
Every fall, winter and spring Manitou directors and staff tour the country hosting reunions and gatherings in more than ten cities. In the spring, Manitou hosts new camper gatherings in several areas as well. Directors also buy a block of seats to three Major League baseball games for campers and their families to attend.
Soccer Camp
Perfectly suited for school and youth teams, Manitou Soccer provides teams as well as individual players with the perfect opportunity to develop soccer skills and team chemistry. For more than 10 years, Manitou Soccer has developed hundreds of individual soccer players and elevated the team play of numerous youth and high school programs. Manitou Soccer's mission is to improve each and every individual as a complete soccer player and teammate.
The program does so through the quality Maine summer camp environment. Coaches and past players feel it is the best learning environment for players to develop their individual technical skills. Training sessions are fun and challenge kids with a variety of educational experiences. Players and teams get opportunities to compete in small-side games as well as full-sided scrimmages. Manitou Soccer maintains a low camper-to-coach ratio and provides staffing for many camp activities that are not soccer related. What truly sets Manitou Soccer apart is that it is so much more than just soccer. All players have access to Manitou's great facility and will take advantage of the camp's beautiful Maine surroundings.

Family Camp
Enjoy the thrills of scaling a 50-foot climbing tower, flying down a 300-foot zip-line, hiking through the wilderness of Maine, hitting a softball under-the-lights at Peckham Park, canoeing on the pristine waters of East Lake, or just relaxing by a cozy camp fire and gazing at the stars at night.
Manitou now offers all the fun its campers have all summer to their entire families. Family Camp begins immediately after the campers leave, on the last day of camp in August. Come see why your son just can't get enough!
Counselors and directors will be on hand to organize and officiate family games, including the annual fathers vs. staff basketball game. Our waterfront will be in full swing and the kitchen will be busy whipping up terrific meals including a Maine lobster dinner.
We'll also offer great out-of-camp trips such as a scenic hike on the Atlantic shores of Maine and golfing at one of Maine's premier golf courses.
It's a memorable experience and we don't want any camper to be left out. If some family members are not able to attend, substitutes are welcome - uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, or other trusted adults.
Manitou's Family Camp was featured in the Baltimore Jewish Times Insider Magazine.
