Manitou looks to be a leader in the camping industry and in the venues we use to communicate with our community. In recent years, many platforms have evolved and below are ways we intend to use each network:

Facebook : facebook.com/campmanitoumaine
The Facebook page is our primary network to communicate and coordinate Manitou events. From in person reunions to “Wear Manitou” day, we use this page to highlight and promote involvement. In addition, we share and celebrate community milestones (such as birth announcements, weddings, etc.). During the summer, the Facebook page highlights camp news such as the College League scoreboard and many daily camp activities.

Twitter : @camp_Manitou or https://twitter.com/Camp_Manitou
We use Twitter to communicate content related to the interests of parents, staff, alumni and older campers. We’ve created lists that you might consider following: Parent Resources
, Maine Resources, Camping Industry Resources, Media Resources and Manitou Alumni. We look to tweet (or retweet) content that might include helpful ideas, discounts (especially to help with summer visits to Maine), or opinion pieces promoting the benefits of camp. In addition, we look to promote the original content of Manitou Alumni (or parents).

LinkedIn : Manitou LinkedIn Group
We use the Linkedin group as a place to assist alumni, staff and parents to network. We are connected to many great people in a variety of industries and Linkedin offers a platform for people to enhance their connections.

Instagram : @camp_manitou http://instagram.com/camp_manitou
Instagram is a great place to share “real time” photos and videos of Manitou events. We will often use the hashtag #toumagic to allow others to share photos or videos. If you are on instragam, a good example of group sharing occurred during last year’s ski trip. Search #touonsnow13 to see photos from last year’s ski trip.
